Q: So 2017 is going, going gone…What do you want to talk about for week 1 of the New Year?
 

A:  Not so fast. Before we completely say goodbye to 2017, I thought I should give some props to the team for all that they accomplished last year. 

Q: Wow. That’s not like you. New Year’s Resolution?

A:  Yes. That’s exactly it. 

We increased our company sales by 23% vs last year. Way to go Team Dg and thank you Team Clients.

We harvested over 1,000,000 more sunflowers this year than last year during the notorious fall dip (Weeks 36-42). 

We created 147 new Jobs. Total Team Members = 354 people in 2017 vs 207 people in 2016.

 We shipped 98.7% of all orders on time. (I’m really proud of the entire team on this one. Not easy to pull off considering 90% of our crops are grown outdoors. Our strategy of investing in better forecasting processes and diversifying our growing regions is really starting to pay off).  

We had the best quality metric in the history of the company with credits as a percent of sales equaling 0.4%. This means that 99.6% of our shipments arrived in good shape.  I’ll take it.   Way to go Team Quality Control! As you can see we care deeply about our mission of bringing smiles and making fresh flowers part of everyday life so we have a pretty big QC Team! 

We increased our Mason Jar business by 400% and our foam arrangement business by 300%. Way to go Team Innovation!
